Samburu

Dry northern country with species you will not see in the south, led by the “Samburu Special Five”.

Samburu lies north of the equator along the Ewaso Ng’iro River. The landscape is drier and rockier than the southern parks.

Look for five northern species: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, beisa oryx and gerenuk.

  • Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe
  • Elephants along the river
  • A different Kenya from the southern parks
